Read about our visit with Jon Kosmoski, founder of House of Kolor

It was a hot August night here in memphis and the shop was packed with custom painters from all over the mid south. When Jon came out he had one request "turn off your cell phones" as he shouted this very loudly. If you ever get the chance to meet Jon you'll soon figure out that he talked very loudly when he wants to get his point across.

Once he started talking about all the different paints offered bu HOK everyone was very interested in what he had to say. Jon covered about every product that would be needed to do a custom paint job. After talking for about an hour and answering as few questions from the 250 plus crowd, he moved into the paint booth to show how to do what he had been talking about.

Jon had two chevy truck hoods and two corvette fenders that he would be doing the painting on. He started by painting the new MBC products. We are very proud to have some of the first batches, here at Metal Illusions and have done a few jobs with it. After he sprayed the MBC products he then covered them with HOK Kandys, as he sprayed the Kandy's he talked about how to use the paint gun and what the settings should be in order to get a good kandy paint job.

After sparying the Kandy's he mvoed to blended flames and did the entire job with pearls, this is a stle that I learded form him years ago and have produced many time (50's style if your wondering).

Jon painted in the booth for about two and half hours answering questions in between coats, after the paint everyone moved back into the main shop and returned to their chairs. Jon Then showed everyone how he laid out flames and talked about pinstriping. (since he is one of the masters)

This night work shop was ended with several happy people in crowd that won some of the door prizes (Prizes were; Sata Complete Mini Jet setup, and other Sata HVLP guns) offered by our local House of Kolor Rep.

After everyonehad left Jon took the time to pose for a few pictures withself and the local Hok jobbers

If you ever get a chance to meet Jon take the time to do it, you'll gain some much knowledge about custom paint he's the real deal.
